Born from the John L. Warfield Center for African and African American Studies (WCAAAS) the Art Galleries at Black Studies (AGBS) provides a platform to unpack timely social-justice issues through the arts. AGBS is home to two spaces—the Christian-Green Gallery and the IDEA Lab. AGBS studies, celebrates, and exhibits visual arts, archives, and material culture of and by peoples of the Black Diaspora. AGBS is the sole on-campus entity dedicated to showcasing the art, culture, and history of Africa and the African Diaspora. These galleries are premier destinations for anyone who seeks to connect with human narratives that affect us all.
